Dress Code

Note: for ALL ballet classes hair should be worn in a slicked back and secure bun. If you’re not sure how to do a proper ballet bun please scroll down to our Performance and Class Readiness section for assistance.

For all other forms of dance, and Theater classes hair should be worn up and pulled away from face.

Ballet (Lower Division)

Top: Leotard, any color (required)

Bottom: Pink or black tights, skirts, or tutus (optional)

Shoes: Pink ballet slippers (required)

Ballet (Upper & Advanced Division)

Top: Colored leotard according to level (Boys wear a white t-shirt)

Bottom: Pink tights (Boys wear black tights and a dance belt)

Shoes: Pink ballet slippers (Boys wear black ballet slippers)

Leotard Colors: Dress code is mandatory for Ballet 1-Ballet 5 only.

Ballet 1: Light Pink

Ballet 2: Light Blue

Ballet 3: Red

Ballet 4: Eggplant

Ballet 5: Royal Blue

Advanced A-D: Dark colored leotard with no patterns *Suggested, not mandatory

Students may wear any color leotard for rehearsals. To access our Discount Dance store, please click the button below and follow the instructions for your level.

Contemporary

Top: Any colored leotard, tank top, or t-shirt. No crop tops or sports bras, please.

Bottom: Any colored leggings, sweatpants, or shorts. No booty shorts, please.

Shoes: No shoes are required for contemporary. They will dance barefoot or in socks.

*Advanced dancers may want to purchase knee pads to protect them during floor work

Hip Hop Street Styles

Top: Any colored tank top or t-shirt. No crop tops or sports bras, please.

Bottom: Any colored jeans, sweatpants, leggings, or shorts. No booty shorts, please.

Shoes: Sneakers. Please be sure to bring a pair of sneakers that are designated for dance class - wearing street shoes on our studio floors makes the floors unsanitary.

Musical Theater Jazz

Top: Any colored leotard, tank top, or t-shirt. No crop tops or sports bras, please.

Bottom: Black leggings, jazz pants, or shorts. No booty shorts, please.

Shoes: Black split sole jazz shoes.

Note: each role in the Nutcracker has their own specific hair and makeup requirements, information regarding what is explicitly needed for each part has been sent out via email.
